Temecula wine and tourism groups fight SDG&E's Powerlink route

Valley News: Visit Temecula Valley and the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association issued a joint position against the proposed route of SDG&E's 145-mile Golden Pacific Powerlink, a 500-kilovolt overhead transmission line. The current route would cut through Southwest Riverside County corridors near State Route 79 South, Vail Lake, Galway Downs, and Temecula Parkway along Temecula Creek. The two groups argue the towers would degrade the destination's visual appeal and raise wildfire risk in zones already rated high-severity.
