The Riverside Record: Murrieta Valley Unified holds a special election Tuesday to fill the Trustee Area 3 seat, vacant since September. The vote happened because a community petition forced it: after Trustee Yvonne Munoz stepped down, the board voted 3-1 last October to appoint Josefine Hartley, and residents pushed back to demand an election instead. The winner serves the rest of Munoz's term, through December 1, 2028. Former Trustee Julie Vandegrift and UC Riverside development director Elliot Emmer are on the ballot.
