Six films in 70mm at Palm Springs Cultural Center May 29-31

PS 70mm Fest: The Palm Springs 70mm Fest returns May 29-31 at the Palm Springs Cultural Center's Camelot Theatre, screening six films in the large-format projection the venue was originally built for in 1967.

The lineup opens Friday with Close Encounters of the Third Kind (7 p.m.), runs through a Saturday slate of The Searchers, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Boogie Nights, and closes Sunday with Lawrence of Arabia (11 a.m.) and West Side Story (6 p.m.). Tickets are sold per screening through Eventbrite. The Cultural Center is at 2300 East Baristo Road in Palm Springs — about an hour-and-a-half drive from the IE corridor on a clear day.
