Thomas Sekayan takes over as CEO of Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises
Thomas Sekayan has taken the CEO seat at Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises permanently this month, closing out a stretch as acting chief executive that began in October. He served as the auxiliary's chief operating officer from 2022 until stepping up.
Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is the self-funded commercial arm of the university, running student housing, dining, and other on-campus services on a base of roughly $214 million in assets. Its operations sit on a campus that draws a substantial share of its students and workforce from western San Bernardino County — Chino, Chino Hills, and the communities along the county line.
Sekayan steps into the permanent role after carrying it in an acting capacity for roughly eight months, a sequence that typically signals a board settling on continuity rather than an outside search.
