Dave Gutierrez takes over as Menifee police chief

City of Menifee: City Manager Armando Villa picked Dave Gutierrez as Menifee's police chief, making permanent the acting role he has held since Chris Karrer retired in February. A 24-year law enforcement veteran, Gutierrez joined the department in 2019 as one of its first hires ahead of its July 2020 launch and served as captain over the Investigations and Operations divisions; a swearing-in ceremony will be announced.
