EDD picks Riverside Adult School, Time for Change for job training grants

CA EDD: California's Employment Development Department picked 10 organizations to share $16.3 million in federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funds for job training, education, and employment services aimed at Californians facing barriers to work. Riverside Adult School gets $512,541 to expand programs in pharmacy technician, automotive maintenance, job skills, and computer literacy. San Bernardino-based Time for Change Foundation gets $1,322,939 to serve San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

Two additional grantees cover parts of the IE. The Anti-Recidivism Coalition gets $1,841,977 to support formerly incarcerated workers across Sacramento, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino counties through union trade apprenticeship preparation. NPower gets $1,841,950 for IT workforce development across a multi-county California footprint that includes San Bernardino. The full round is federally funded by the U.S. Department of Labor.
