All three Riverside council races head toward November runoffs

The Riverside Record: All three Riverside City Council races on the June ballot look headed to November runoffs, with none of the 10 candidates clearing the 50% threshold in Thursday's count. Ward 4 incumbent Chuck Conder came closest at about 48%, with Rich Vandenberg second at 29%. In Ward 2, Gracie Torres leads Aram Ayra by 155 votes; in Ward 6, Oz Puerta sits 55 votes ahead of Norma Berrellez for the second runoff spot behind Luis Hernandez.

The results are far from final. The Riverside County Registrar of Voters says roughly 270,000 vote-by-mail ballots and 3,200 conditional registration ballots countywide still need counting, and ballots postmarked by Election Day arriving through June 9 also count. The next results update is expected Friday evening.
