Help shape the Trujillo Adobe's next chapter Saturday
RivCoParks: Saturday, June 6 · 10 a.m.–1 p.m. · Springbrook Clubhouse, 1011 N. Orange St., Riverside. RivCoParks hosts a community workshop for the Trujillo Adobe Heritage Village Project, where attendees can learn the adobe's history, review early site concepts, and share input as the district works with the Trujillo family on the site's future.
The adobe is one of the oldest surviving structures in Riverside County and the last above-ground remnant of the historic San Salvador community; the Trujillo family built it after an 1862 flood destroyed much of the original settlement along the Santa Ana River. RivCoParks has owned the property since 1972 and bought up the surrounding parcels in 2025 to set up the heritage village project, which will stabilize the deteriorating structure and add pathways, utilities, and visitor facilities — construction is slated for 2028–2029. Saturday is the first chance for the public to mark up the plans.
