Riverside County opens two public seats on new Audit Committee
Riverside County: Auditor-Controller Ben Benoit opened applications for two public seats on the new County of Riverside Audit Committee, a body the Board of Supervisors created in February under Resolution 2026-028. Applications close July 1.
The committee runs nine members: the Auditor-Controller, a staffer from his office, two supervisors, the County Executive Officer or a designee, two public members, and County Counsel and the Clerk of the Board as non-voting seats. Public members must live in or run a business in Riverside County and bring accounting, auditing, or financial-management expertise. Benoit reviews candidates and forwards qualified names to the Board for appointment.
Public members serve staggered two-year terms, renewable once; one initial seat carries a three-year term. The committee meets at least quarterly and advises the Board on governance, risk management, and internal controls.
