Redlands council votes 5–0 to draft a citywide ban on new warehouses

Community Forward Redlands: The council voted 5–0 Tuesday night to direct staff to draft the ordinance, which heads next to the Planning Commission. As written, it would bar new warehouses across all zoning districts and specific plan areas, and stop owners from assembling parcels with existing industrial buildings to put up new ones.

Existing warehouses would stay as legal, conforming uses. Owners could rebuild after a fire or disaster, but only to the same square footage and height.

Council Member Denise Davis made the motion; Paul Barich seconded.
