Frito-Lay shuts its Rancho Cucamonga warehouse, ending a 56-year run
ABC7: PepsiCo will close the Frito-Lay distribution center at 9535 Archibald Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga on June 6, eliminating 248 jobs. The closure follows the February 10 WARN filing with California's EDD and ends operations at a site that has been running since 1970 — the original home of Flamin' Hot Cheetos.
Manufacturing operations at the same location wound down in 2025; the June 6 distribution shutdown is the second wave of cuts at the plant. PepsiCo told ABC7 it will shift operations to "a new distribution center in the local community" but has not named the location or said whether affected workers can transfer.
The 248 positions include 88 material handlers, 80 warehouse workers, 10 maintenance mechanics, and a hostler, per the WARN filing. PepsiCo said it will provide pay and benefits based on years of service plus transition assistance.
