Riverside's VMT mitigation bank wins a SCAG sustainability award

The Raincross Gazette: Riverside picked up an Outstanding Achievement in Sustainability award from the Southern California Association of Governments for its Vehicle Miles Traveled Mitigation Bank pilot. SCAG presented the award May 7, calling the program a first-in-county tool that gives developers a streamlined, low-cost way to fully mitigate VMT impacts under CEQA — at $98 per VMT reduced, which the city says is the lowest known rate statewide.
