Riverside County floats a $10.3B budget as a first deficit year looms

County of Riverside: Riverside County released its recommended FY26/27 budget for public review, totaling more than $10.3 billion across all funds, with public hearings set for June 8. Discretionary general-fund revenue — the money the board can actually steer — comes in around $1.4 billion, against roughly $700 million in department requests above current levels.

The plan holds core services: $3.1 billion for health and hospitals, $2.4 billion for public safety, $2.0 billion for human services, and $1.1 billion for public works. The county frames it against a slowing revenue environment and rising costs.
