Redlands homeless count falls a third straight year as unsheltered numbers tick up
Community Forward Redlands: Redlands' homeless count fell for the third year running, per San Bernardino County's 2026 Point-in-Time Count. The Jan. 22 survey identified 134 people, down from 146 in 2025. The drop came almost entirely from sheltered individuals, down nearly 36%, while the unsheltered count rose from 104 to 107.
That puts Redlands against the countywide grain: across San Bernardino County, the unsheltered population fell 7.1%, from 2,636 to 2,448. The city credits its Homeless Solutions Office, opened in 2022, plus a $30 million Homekey grant that converted a former motel into the Step Up supportive housing facility and more than $12 million in outreach and rehousing grants over four years.
