Chino trash carts get camera checks starting July 1
Champion Newspapers: Starting July 1, Waste Management collection trucks in Chino will use onboard cameras to check residential carts for contamination and overfilling, a monitoring requirement under SB 1383, the state's 75 percent waste-diversion law. No fines through August — residents get mailed warning notices with a photo of the flagged cart. Repeat violations after that draw a $17.89 fine for contamination and $29.81 for overfilling. About 30 residents attended a May 20 city workshop on the sorting rules.
