Inland Empire apartment rents rose more than 0.3% in May, best May in three years

CoStar: Inland Empire apartment rents rose more than 0.3% in May 2026, extending a run of modest monthly gains as spring leasing picked up, according to CoStar. The May increase outpaced the same month in the prior two years.

The monthly figure fits the IE's seasonal pattern: rents build through the first half of the year before the back half softens. Both 2024 and 2025 turned negative in the fall and winter months. May's reading sits at the strong end of that spring window.
